Exhibition Information

With more than 500 booths, the HK Mega Showcase displayed a wide range of exhibits spanning from cosmetic goods for ladies, high-tech products for men, toys for children and health food for seniors. Many goods were sold at factory prices during the show which attracted lots of buyers.

It was found that the 5-day fair in 2004 attracted around 500,000 visitors. This was a 50% increase in the average number of visitors per day when compared with the 9-day exhibition in 2003. It reveals that the popularity of the fair would not be affected by the shorten show days. Following the economic upturn in 2004, customer purchasing power has highly increased and led to over HK$120 million sales which is 34% more than the expected HK$80 million for the exhibition.

Moreover, the exhibition also successfully attracted more than 30,000 tourists, with 70% from mainland China and 30% from US, Australia, New Zealand and so on. The total number of tourists attending the fair in 2004 has increased by 30% when compared with 2003. This indicates that the show is becoming a more popular tourist spot in Hong Kong during Christmas and New Year.
